Collection labels that you print contain a small square field with an angular pattern. This is a so-called QR code. It allows information to be stored in a machine-readable form. In our case, we use the code to read the GUSID using a simple QR code scanner.

You need a 2D QR code scanner that is capable of reading “Data Matrix” codes.

Please make sure that the scanner has 2D capability and can read “Data Matrix” codes. Slightly cheaper devices are often offered without this capability. Prices for suitable scanners usually range between €25 and €80, depending on functionality and whether they are wired or wireless.
