Change of shareholders and managing directors at Geolitho Stiftung gGmbH

After almost four years of inten­sive vol­un­tary work, Dr Man­fred Seitz, co-founder and for­mer man­ag­ing direc­tor, is relin­quish­ing his shares in Geolitho Stiftung and step­ping down from the board. Matthias Fieser will take over respon­si­bil­i­ty in future.

Manfred Seitz – founding spirit and pioneer

Although the Geolitho Foun­da­tion was only estab­lished in 2021, its suc­cess is based on a foun­da­tion that Dr Seitz has been help­ing to shape since 2001: togeth­er with a small group of enthu­si­asts, he devel­oped the Lithothek, a com­mu­ni­ty col­lec­tion, into a glob­al­ly recog­nised institution.

At almost 90 years of age, Dr Seitz wish­es to del­e­gate his duties in order to focus on what is most impor­tant to him: advis­ing and sup­port­ing the Lithothek from behind the scenes. We owe him our deep­est grat­i­tude and high­est appre­ci­a­tion for his ongo­ing commitment.


Matthias Fieser – new partner and managing director

For­tu­nate­ly, we were able to recruit Matthias Fieser, whom we con­sid­er to be a wor­thy and com­mit­ted suc­ces­sor. We first got to know him through his reg­u­lar pur­chas­es in our mar­ket­place; since then, he has been involved in the Lithothek sev­er­al times a week.

Matthias brings every­thing we need – above all, ener­gy, fresh ideas and the desire to fur­ther devel­op the foun­da­tion. In his mid-50s, he is an asset to our team. He spares no effort, goes where sup­port is need­ed and, thanks to his sta­ble pro­fes­sion­al sit­u­a­tion, can con­tribute more time.

Any­one who attend­ed the Munich Show 2025 may have already seen him at the Munich Min­er­al Friends stand, where he was active­ly help­ing out.


Shareholder structure remains unchanged

Fol­low­ing the change, Matthias Fieser and Ste­fan Schorn will con­tin­ue to hold the same share in the foun­da­tion, while Gün­ter Frenz will retain his minor­i­ty stake. The change in share­hold­ers and man­ag­ing direc­tors was notarised on 25 Novem­ber 2025.

We would like to thank Dr Man­fred Seitz for his extra­or­di­nary life’s work and warm­ly wel­come Matthias Fieser. Togeth­er, we want to fur­ther strength­en the foun­da­tion’s projects and pro­mote inter­est in geol­o­gy in the long term.
