Change of shareholders and managing directors at Geolitho Stiftung gGmbH
After almost four years of intensive voluntary work, Dr Manfred Seitz, co-founder and former managing director, is relinquishing his shares in Geolitho Stiftung and stepping down from the board. Matthias Fieser will take over responsibility in future.
Manfred Seitz – founding spirit and pioneer
Although the Geolitho Foundation was only established in 2021, its success is based on a foundation that Dr Seitz has been helping to shape since 2001: together with a small group of enthusiasts, he developed the Lithothek, a community collection, into a globally recognised institution.
At almost 90 years of age, Dr Seitz wishes to delegate his duties in order to focus on what is most important to him: advising and supporting the Lithothek from behind the scenes. We owe him our deepest gratitude and highest appreciation for his ongoing commitment.
Matthias Fieser – new partner and managing director
Fortunately, we were able to recruit Matthias Fieser, whom we consider to be a worthy and committed successor. We first got to know him through his regular purchases in our marketplace; since then, he has been involved in the Lithothek several times a week.
Matthias brings everything we need – above all, energy, fresh ideas and the desire to further develop the foundation. In his mid-50s, he is an asset to our team. He spares no effort, goes where support is needed and, thanks to his stable professional situation, can contribute more time.
Anyone who attended the Munich Show 2025 may have already seen him at the Munich Mineral Friends stand, where he was actively helping out.
Shareholder structure remains unchanged
Following the change, Matthias Fieser and Stefan Schorn will continue to hold the same share in the foundation, while Günter Frenz will retain his minority stake. The change in shareholders and managing directors was notarised on 25 November 2025.
We would like to thank Dr Manfred Seitz for his extraordinary life’s work and warmly welcome Matthias Fieser. Together, we want to further strengthen the foundation’s projects and promote interest in geology in the long term.
